Dead Freight Survey
– A dead freight survey is conducted upon completion of cargo loading operation and will reveal whether there is any additional cargo space and/or deadweight which can be utilized to load more cargo.
– A claim for deadfreight arises when a charterer fails in this obligation to provide sufficient cargo to load a vessel to the contractual stipulated quantity. The Dead Freight Survey’s result can be used to verify the legitimacy of the vessel’s dead freight claim.
