Container Loading and Securing / Transload Inspection
– Ensure appropriate container is utilized for intended cargo.
– Verify the proper weight distribution and spacing is utilized.
– Ensure that securing of cargo is sufficient for ocean transport, in accordance with the CTU Code, to prevent movement of the cargo.
– Determine height measurements for open top containers.
– Inspection of packages for damages.
– If Dangerous Goods, ensure package type is acceptable for the type of DG.
– If Dangerous Goods, ensure placards and marks on the container, and labels on the pakaging are displayed in accordance with IMDG Code and/or 49CFR.
– If cargo transload is needed, conduct package count and inspection of packages for damages.
